I am excited that I have come by this site. Even though we do get tons of natural snow here. It does not necessarily happen always at levels we want, or in a pile.

I am a skier and have been skiing for the past 9 years. And recently i wanted to build my own ski run at my cottage. I have looked in to other sites, like snow at home. However I do not want to pay 800$ on a external mix.

I was wondering what the best gun I can make with a BE 2.3gpm pressure washer and a commercial air compressor. I want to make a pile rather have it over a large area. I was also wondering how to prevent water from going back down my air line.

Thanks

Chris Thacker

how many CFM is the compressor? if it is big then you might be better off just using a T or Y gun.

I would suguest building a high pressure water pump. If you really want to crank out the snow and your have ample Air CFM then you should be able to get near or close to a 1.1 ratio of air/water, while dependant on temperatures.

It would take you a long time if your using 2.3gpm to cover a ski slope.

Here's what we need from you to help us understand how bad you want snow on your slope:

- How many CFM is your compressor?

- Do you have access to electricity and water? If yes please list what voltage(115Vor220V), and how many circuits/amps and outlets.

- How long and wide is the run that you want to cover?

- How much money are you willing to spend in order to make your ski slope white?

- How much time and effort are you going to put into moving the snowgun and being out at night doing all night runs?

- Is there any houses/neighbors around?

- What temperatures do you get early season and mid season where snowmaking whould prove useful? High and Low temperature.

- Is that Weather pattern consistant? Meaning do you have long periods of time well below freezing (20-25degrees *F)?

Hope this list is easy to follow and answer. This will give us a better idea on how we can help you accomplish your goal!
