Okay, I know I don't know anything about this, but I want some man-made snow (like the ski-runs) in my backyard for a party in December. I really didn't want to buy a machine, does anyone in Phoenix do this?

One major factor is if it actually gets cold enough where you live. What the lowest it gets there?

if you've got the cold temps which i doubt it, but if you do, defintally build your own! You'll save $300+!
Cold temps??? It needs to be below 28degrees to make snow.

Firm believer that taller is better, except with women...

I live in scottsdale arizona too. Yes you can make snow but not very often. Last winter there was 5 nights when it was cold enough to make snow. In phoenix it is usually very low humididity so you can make snow up to about 35 degrees. During the coldest period January 14-17th i had about a foot of snow over the whole back and front yard. Chances aren't that good that it will be cold enough to make snow right before your party, but you never know, last winter was abnormally cold but you should get at least a few chances to make snow if you want.

willb- you might have a early morning chance this weekend coming up.

We run alot above 35. Tonight its 40 f with 17% which is 27 w/b. waiting for 26 w/b, dont think it will happen.

DaveS-Hoping to get the first run of the season saturday morning. 45 at Phoenix, guessing it will be a little lower. My house is about 8 degrees cooler, so upper thirties. Will definitely turn on the t gun, hopefully cold enough for the combo.

You should be getting some really cold temps by the weekend, maybe even a little natural snow.

Yes-looking forward to Wednesday night on-ward to save us. We have managed to pump 1.5 mil so far in 60 hrs since 10/21. Though there is only 50 to 60 % of that still on the ground. Not sure of snow, other than flurries. a blanket of snow would sure help temps. Its amazing though, 2 spots have not run since 10/21 and there is still a small percent of snow there. It was cold then-hit 17 w/b But since we have been running at or above 32 f

its 42 w/16% still 27 w/b Frown
time to call it a night with the forcast in mind. Maybe I will have cover up the T-shirt with coat this weekend.
