Ok. i have followed your guys advice and went and bought 4 new nozzles. The top three are coded 2002 and the nuc nozzle is a 4003. The pressure washer is rated at 2.5gpm and 2200psi. The air compressor is rated at 7.1 @90psi and 9.2 @40. I have been standing outside trying to do this and all i get is soaked. The temp outside is 29 degrees with 15% humidity. I cant figure out what i adoing wrong. Can anybody help me? I really want to make a snowman!! Thank you and feel free to answer anytime since i will be up all night trying to figure this out.

I got 2 things to say now that i have gotten snow and worked on the"real" problems that lead to lack of snow. The first thing is forget these **** ball valves. pieces of junk! Blew through 4 of em last night. Needle valve or ? you tell me, i am all ears!!! Second thing, i hate how the nozzles clog so much . What can i do without breaking the bank to aleviate this problem. I must mention that i am on well water so does that make a differance? Its 11:30pm and i have a wet bulb of 22.9 but i am waiting a little longer since i know i will blow the new ball valve i purchased today due to the cool stores(places where people know what the are talking about) not being open on the weekend. I will repost on my outcome from tonights episode of snowmaking in the morning. I cant say this anymore, THANK YOU TO ALL ON THIS SITE THAT ENCOURAGE THE NEW KNOWLEDGE I HAVE GAINED FROM THIS EXPIERIMENT. This is addicting!!

i used ball valves on my guns all last season never had any problems lol.put a filter before your pressure washer/pump to filter stuff out and if you clog a nozzle you dont need to buy a new one just clean it out.

Umm, your ball valves shouldnt be breaking. Are they brass? Im using 6 on my setup now and not a single one has broken. Yes, well water could be the cause of your clogs... go to lowes and get an inline sediment filter with a 50 or 100 micron filter, then you should be good. I think theyre like $30.. _________________________________ (jeebus) the "bishop" came to our church today (jeebus) he was a freakin impostor (jeebus) never once moved diagonally

I had a very good weekend of beginner snowmaking. I got to see the differant snow at differant temps and really got a feel for this very addicting fun. I want to answer questions first, recount my expieiance second and ask more question third. I am using brass ball vales. In my two night of snowmaking, i noticed that the easability of adjustment for finest nucleation was the 1/4" ball valve. However, the 1/2" ball valve did not bust in as quick amount of time. After further thought, the only thing i can think of is that the opening diameter between a 1/4" ball valve and a 1/2" ball valve could affect the amount of fine adjustment. Does this make sense? Next is the clogging issue from the first night of snowmaking. The clogging has been attributed to the teflon tape that i used to wrap each nozzle for a snug fit. The next night i did not bother to teflon the threads and i never had a problem. The first night of snowmaking was prime even though i only gaot about one full hour of snowmaking in between the times i was fixing the 1/4" ball valve. The temps in my hood of cave creek az got down to 25! It styed there pretty much all night but i could not do anything with busted ball valves. The next night is where all my real learing has come from. Only blew on ball valve and was able to continuously blow snow from 3am to 5:15am and shut her down. The temp at 3am was 27 degrees and the snow was so sick looking, white as could be. At 5:15am the temp went all the way to 41 degrees and thesnow was mushy and dense. It was very cool to see the "snowmaking wet bulb chart" unfold befor my very eyes. I took in a lot of valid information in those two hours but the real question is if i learned anything. I hope to try again as soon as phoenix az gets thats cold again. On to my questions. Will an in line air check valve in addition to a needle valve allow me to fine tune the nucleation as well as equlize the barrel pressure evenly? Is there a better way to fine tune the nuc nozzle instead of trying to find the "sweet spot" in a ball valve? When can i start using all three bulk nozzles on my gun? I used two bulk nozzles and one nuc nozzle and got pretty good results but when can i start with three? does it even make a differance(i am sure it does due the the drop in pressure)? Ithink that is it for now. I look forward to all your answers and hope that i dont have to wait to long before i can take your information and apply it again. I will post my first time pics sepearte since that is when my computer shut down last time right about now!
