Hello to everyone. I am new at the snowmaking business, but am anxious to learn. I have a large pond that is waiting to be tapped, and a 2" gas pump that I'm hoping to add to the mix. I'll have lots of questions so I hope that none of them sound dumb.

I live just outside of a little town called Port Huron. We are about one hour north of Detroit. It always seems to be cold enough, there is just never enough snow.

Welcome aboard w8tn4snow Dancing Banana

Your questions are welcome!

However, many newbie questions have already been asked here at one point or another. If you want to earn a star for your forehead (don't we all), do a little reading and searching here first. Big Grin

Any plans for the snow, or you into making snow "just because I can"?

Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo eh? You probably get more snow than we do. I think you might be in that snow belt out there.

Anywho, I plan on making snow so that my kids can practice skiing down the hill at our house.

I know exactly where Clarkston is. Have some family that lives out by Davidson, not to far from where you are. You probably experience a similar amount of snow that we do....not much.

Port Huron? One time on my way back from the UP, I stayed at a Holiday Inn in Port Huron. There happened to be a huge wedding reception going on, and I was hanging out in the bar, partying with the wedding people. I drank so many Heinekens that later that night (actually earlier the next morning), after I went to bed, I got up and thought I was going to the bathroom and ended up locking myself out of my room, in the hallway, in my underwear.

I wrapped myself up with a newspaper I found in the hall, and snuck down to the front desk for a spare key - boy, were they giving me some weird looks!

I hope your planning on having a 185cfm Air compressor on that or else it won't work...

Grand Rapids...all my relatives live there. Maybe when I come up for the holidays I'll have to stop by and check out the setup!

Welcome! Michigan gets those cold temps but I think don't you guys get the wind from the lake?

I'm on the border on where the lake effect snow stops, which really sucks.
